terminal to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport was opened in 2003 for the
convenience of travelers. Old Lideta Airport located in the Western district is

Addis Ababa
provides railway connection with Djibouti City with striking French style
railway station. Railway is under process in Addis Ababa and the pending
construction of a new modern rail line is required to build in the near future.
Light rail
system was planned in September 2010 by Ethiopian Railway Corporation. Funding
agreement was done with the Export and Import Bank of China. This plan includes
30 km network of two lines one is in the east west line from Ayat to the Torhailoch
Ring Road and other is from Menelik Square to Mercato Bus Station, Meskel
Square and Akaki.
